All Occupation In Demand applications must now go through the Expression of Interest (EOI) system. Submit your EOI profile with your job offer details and wait for an Invitation to Apply (ITA). Candidates with in-demand occupations receive priority in draws.

  • Position must be in an eligible in-demand NOC
  • Employer must be established in Nova Scotia
  • Job meets prevailing wage requirements

Work Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience
  • Experience in same or related NOC
  • Experience gained in the last 5 years
  • Full-time equivalent (30+ hours/week)

Education

  • Minimum high school diploma
  • Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) required
  • Trade certification if applicable
  • Job-specific certifications as required

Language Proficiency

  • Minimum CLB 4 in English or French
  • Lower requirement than other streams
  • IELTS General or CELPIP for English
  • Test results valid for 2 years

Application Process

Secure a Job Offer

Obtain a full-time, permanent job offer from a Nova Scotia employer in your eligible in-demand occupation. The employer must be willing to support your application.

Submit Expression of Interest (EOI)

Create an EOI profile in the Nova Scotia immigration portal with your job offer details. Candidates in high-priority occupations receive preference in draws.

Receive Invitation to Apply (ITA)

If selected, you'll receive an ITA to submit your complete application. In-demand occupations typically receive invitations faster than other categories.

Submit Complete Application

Submit all required documents within the deadline (typically 60-90 days). Ensure your application is complete and accurate to avoid processing delays.

Receive Nomination & Apply for PR

Upon approval, receive your provincial nomination and apply for permanent residence through IRCC within 6 months.
