Can I work while studying in Ireland?

Yes! Students on Stamp 2 can work up to 20 hours per week during term time and 40 hours during holidays (June-Sept and Dec 15-Jan 15).

What is the stay back option after graduation?

Masters/PhD graduates get 2-year Stamp 1G visa. Bachelor's graduates get 1 year. This allows you to work and find a job in Ireland.

What IELTS score is required?

Most universities require IELTS 6.0-6.5 overall with no band below 6.0. Some courses (Medicine, Law) may require higher. Check specific university requirements.

How much bank balance do I need?

Show EUR 10,000 minimum (in addition to tuition fees) to demonstrate you can support yourself. Bank statements for last 6 months required.

Can I bring my family on student visa?

Generally no. Student visa (Stamp 2) doesn't allow family. However, spouse may apply separately if they have their own valid reason (work, study).

What is ILEP and why is it important?

ILEP (Interim List of Eligible Programmes) is the official list of courses that allow international students to work and stay back. Ensure your course is ILEP-listed.

How long does visa processing take?

Typically 4-8 weeks from the date of biometrics. Apply at least 3 months before your course start date. Peak season (May-Aug) may take longer.

Can I get PR through student visa?

Student visa itself doesn't lead to PR. But after graduation, you can get work permit, and after 2-5 years of employment, apply for Stamp 4 (PR).
